Professional Development Workshops
These workshops are aimed towards participants who are looking for a higher level of experience in drama and the theatre industry. Perfect for participants who would like to build on their artistic skills, gain more theatre experience and will help those who are thinking of applying for drama school or theatre courses. Capall Dorcha Ensemble is a registered Arts Awards Centre based in North Ayrshire. Arts Awards offer unique qualifications that support young people to grow as artists and arts leaders giving them accredited qualifications via Trinity College London.
So far hundreds of young people have participated in free workshops run by Capall Dorcha Ensemble Professional Development in Ayrshire, with classes running on topics such as ‘Acting Through Song and for Camera’, ‘Shakespeare’ and ‘Devising Script for Camera’.
The feedback we’ve had for Capall Dorcha Ensemble Professional Development so far:
“This is the second workshop we have received from Capall Dorcha Theatre Company, and we were not disappointed. The provided a variety of engaging activities for the young people that were fun and informative. The workshop leaders were enthusiastic and encouraged to pupils who had not had much previous drama experience. Pupils not only developed their imaginations, they learned valuable acting skills which will assist them in their class work.” D Cruickshank, Ardrossan Academy.
“Huge thanks to the workshop, staff and participants enjoyed it, and we’d love to have you back.” L Bryden, Auchenharvie Academy.
“Just wanted to thank you all again for the workshop on Friday. Myself and the pupils were delighted with how much we learned from the workshop and how enjoyable it was.” S Martin, Greenwood Academy.
Capall Dorcha Ensemble – You decide
29th October 10 – 11.30am
Are you aged 8 – 26 and always wanted to create your own professional development workshop? If yes, then we invite you to take part in our youth board who will work with us to develop their own event in 2018 as part of the year of the young people. At the same time, we will discuss Capall Dorcha Ensemble and update you on the launch in early 2018.
Participants must bring an adult with them who must attend this meeting.
Why are you doing this?
For two reasons, with Capall Dorcha Ensemble launching early next year we thought this would be a great opportunity to update you on the organisation and get your feedback on how it should be run.
Secondly, we are different than most organisations as we aim to create a youth board that will have a say how the organisation is run and what services we should be focusing on, giving them a say on how it should run and the overall delivery of this event.
What will I learn?
The great thing about this event is that it will bring a whole new skillset to young people taking part, from creative thinking to budgets and marketing. For us, it’s about putting the control back to young people and not to adults.
What do I need to bring?
Nothing. All we ask is that any young person is accompanied by an adult.
Adults do not need to take part as it’s about giving young people the opportunity to create their workshop but by taking part you will engage with our organisation, hear young peoples thoughts and become part of the community in providing opportunities to allow more young people to get involved in Capall Dorcha Ensemble.
Since 2015 over 1100 young people have taken part in a FREE drama workshop with Capall Dorcha Ensemble now, we ask you to help us achieve more by taking part in planning our next workshop.
Tea, Coffee, Juice and biscuits will be provided on the day. So what are you waiting on? Sign up today!
